Being a seaside province Nova Scotia loves its water activities. Learn the ropes of riding waves, and join a surf lesson, or pick up a paddle for an afternoon of kayaking around some of the most beautiful places on the east coast. Grab your gear and go scuba diving under the water to see interesting underwater formations and all kinds of fascinating marine life. Go whale watching in the Bay of Fundy for your chance to see many different whale, dolphin and other marine animal species. On Cape Breton Island, visitors will find a host of great things to see and do. From hiking,cycling or driving the famous Cabot Trail in the Cape Breton Highlands Nation Park, to the historic gems of the Fortress of Louisberg National Historic Site and inventor Alexander Graham Bell’s home Beinn Bhreagh you’ll find there’s more than enough to do just on the island. Pick a few cottages and hotels along the way to stay at to get a better feel of the area.

There are many great museums and art galleries throughout Nova Scotia. Of special note are the interesting  Musquodoboit Railway Museum, and the Sutherland Steam Mill Museum. The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Halifax is the province’s foremost, featuring both contemporary and traditional art works. It’s hard to get past the scenery around here. From stunning white sandy beaches to historic landmarks like the lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, the avid photographer will find more than enough to keep them busy during their vacation here

There is fun for the whole family in Nova Scotia. Pack up the kids and head to Magic Valley Fun Park, or the Discovery Centre in Halifax, full of great things to see and do for the kids and the kid in you. The Bluenose II site, home of the famous ship on the Canadian dime, offers sailings so everyone in the family can enjoy a part of history out at sea. Nova Scotia features a ton of great events and festivals. You’ll love unique events like the Halifax International Busker Festival, celebrated in August every year. The downtown and waterfront areas play host to jugglers, musicians, mimes, fire eaters, musicians, and many other amateur artists you’ll want to spend hours watching.
