South Shore in Nova Scotia
The South Shore of Nova Scotia offers some of the province’s best attractions. From Halifax Harbour to Shelburne County you’ll find many wonderful pieces of paradise great for the whole family, or to explore on your own! Peggy's Cove draws visitors from all over.The beautiful little town on the eastern shore features pristine beaches, craft and gift shops, and of course, the picture perfect lighthouse. Take a tour down the Coastal Heritage Trail, “a museum without walls” while you’re there. Whale watching tours, hiking and deep sea fishing are also available here. Some of the province's nicest cottages and hotels and other unique accommodations are located here as well.

In Pubnico, the world’s oldest Acadian Village you’ll find a lot of interesting historic things and places. Visit the Acadian Museum and Archives, and learn traditional farming and fishing methods. There is no better place to learn about the interesting heritage of Nova Scotia than Pubnico. In Shelburne's you’ll find amazing 18th century homes and majestic commercial buildings. Liverpool’s gift shops, art galleries and waterfront trails are wonderful, and any country music lover will want to visit the Hank Snow Country Music Centre.

Take a family picnic down to the Fort Point Lighthouse or visit the museums and galleries of the Rossignol Cultural Centre. The maritime town of Mahone Bay features several historic waterfront buildings, craft shops, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants. A trip to the South Shore is incomplete without a visit to Lunenburg. Home of the Bluenose II, featured on the Canadian 10 cent coin, a revised-Gothic church, 18th century architecture, and the World UNESCO District. Visit the sea caves in Ovens Park as you hike along the seaside cliffs. Take the family to Oak Island, a place filled of mystery that has been causing frustration (and money!) to companies and individuals for years. Reportedly treasure is buried 200 ft. down, but a series of booby traps has kept excavators from ever finding it. While numerous attempts have been made and clues have been found, there has yet to be a person lucky enough to find the stored treasure.
